Lucknow: A morning filled with joy and inspiration unfolded in Indira Nagar as Femina Miss India 2024, Nikita Porwal, celebrated her birthday among children from a local slum community. The event, organised by Asha Welfare Foundation, brought together around 30 underprivileged children, whose faces lit up as they received notebooks, pens, and other study material from the beauty queen.
Porwal distributed educational kits—copies, notebooks, pens and pencils—to encourage children to stay connected with learning. Her gesture drew cheers and excitement from the young beneficiaries, many of whom are first-generation learners.
Along with children, 20 women associated with Asha Welfare Kutir Udyog were also honoured during the event. Nikita gifted them clothes and encouraged them to continue striving for financial independence and skill development.
Before the distribution, Asha Welfare Foundation president Soni Verma felicitated Nikita Porwal with a bouquet, shawl, and memento, conferring upon her the Asha Seva Samman for her contribution to social causes.

Several dignitaries, including senior advisor Dr. M.P. Shrivastava, Jyoti Malhotra, Rahila Khan, Vibha Shrivastava, Kiran Saxena, Ruchi Shrivastava, and Anita Saxena, were present at the ceremony.
Adding warmth to the occasion, Nikita Porwal also celebrated her birthday by cutting a cake with the children, making the moment memorable for everyone present.
The event underscored the foundation’s commitment to uplifting marginalised communities and highlighted how small acts of kindness can spark hope and motivation among those who need it most.
